  • Enhanced awareness of United Nations – ASEAN relations.
  • Increased knowledge on UN–ASEAN collaboration in political-security, economic, and socio-cultural.
  • Better understanding of how ASEAN supports the Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Identify key initiatives and collaborative efforts between the UN and ASEAN to address each Sustainable Development Goals.

Course Content

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION TO UNITED NATIONS – ASEAN RELATIONS
In this chapter, students will gain an overview of key milestones in United Nations - ASEAN relations, including key areas of cooperation between UN and ASEAN.

CHAPTER 2: PEACE, JUSTICE, AND STRONG INSTITUTIONS
In this chapter, students will learn about the ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC) and UN-ASEAN cooperation in political-security. It highlights SDG 16's goal for peace, justice, and strong institutions for a secure Southeast Asia.

CHAPTER 3: DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
In this chapter, students will learn about the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and its efforts to enhance economic integration and cooperation among ASEAN countries. Emphasizing SDG 8's goal and it’s vision alignment to achieve decent work for all. The chapter also discusses the challenges ASEAN faces in achieving these goals and the importance of collaboration.

CHAPTER 4: CLIMATE CHANGE: NAVIGATING ASEAN’S GREEN PATH
In this chapter, students will learn about the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) and its role in fostering social and cultural cooperation. Understanding of SDG 13's goal in ASEAN of combating climate change, the challenges ASEAN faces in climate action, and emphasizes the need for a resilient and collaboration ASEAN community.
