How to Excel in Your Studies

Overview

Your final year exams are just right around the corner and instead of studying, you’re panicking. So, the solution to your problem is to search up the quickest way to change that F grade to an A grade. Luckily for you, there are plenty of tips to ensure you excel in school with flying colors despite doing so at the last minute.

1. Manage Your Time

This step is what students miss out the most. Before starting your revision, start off by making a schedule of materials you’d want to study first. Other than that, plan out times where you’d need a well deserved break whether it is to nap, spend time with your friends and family, or indulge in a hobby. Having a realistic schedule will make sure that you have enough time for both revision and rest without getting caught up in hours of procrastination.

2. Find Your Study Technique

Sometimes, just reading from the textbook doesn’t work for everyone. Some people may retain the information in the book easily after reading but some may forget them the second they close the textbook. But, worry not, there are multiple study techniques that people use to ensure that the material they are studying stays tattooed in their brain cells.

For example, the Retrieval Practice method is one of the study methods used based on remembering at a later time. Here, recalling an answer to a question improves learning more than looking for an answer in your textbook. People who use this study method often make flashcards with one side with a question written down and the other side with its answer. Another alternative to this is an app known as Quizlet.

Other study methods are such as Pomodoro method, Spaced Practice, and The Feynman Technique.

3. Enjoy Yourself

In the process of learning and excelling, students fail to realize that enjoying the journey is also important. By doing so, students will be able to create a positive aura in life and therefore, will be ready for their next challenges if they enjoy them.

This may be difficult for some students with the built up pressure of doing better than others in school and being anxious of underperforming. However, if you learn the course with the intention of learning it whilst improving from past mistakes, you’ll be able to excel in your studies better than before.

Conclusion

To summarize, it is important to manage your time, discover your personal study techniques and enjoy yourself in order to excel your studies. Although these few tips may not promise the best grade, it is important to remember that with strong and consistent efforts, it will surely give you the results that can get you anywhere in life. As a saying goes, “You reap what you sow”, whatever you experience in the future is the result of the actions you take right now. So do not waste your time, and get to work.
